Q: What does the registration price cover?
A: Registration for Gathering of the Shamans covers lodging and meals at Sedona Mago Retreat Center and all programming. Travel is NOT included; you will need to make your own travel arrangements, including reserving a shuttle from the airport to the retreat center.
Q: Can I sign up for more than one Pre-conference? Or more than one Post-conference?
A: All the Pre-conferences are during the same time, and all Post-conferences are at the same time, so each attendee will only be able to attend one Pre-conference and/or one Post-conference.
Q: Can I stay on Thursday or Sunday night at Mago without attending a Pre/Post Conference?
A: Possibly - please email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire into availability for these nights. For accommodations before Thursday or after Sunday nights, please contact the retreat center directly.
Q: What if I need to arrive early / leave late because of my travel plans?
A: You are welcome to arrive at the retreat center as early as 1pm on Friday (or Thursday if you are attending a Pre-conference) and wait comfortably in the registration center or walk around the grounds until checkin.
Checkout is on Sunday (or Monday if you are attending a Post-conference) at noon but you are welcome to be on the grounds or in the registration center in the afternoon to accommodate your shuttle pickup etc.
Q: Is there parking onsite if I drive to the retreat center?
A: Yes, there is parking available if you are driving instead of flying.
Q: I live in the area. Can I stay offsite and commute to the Gathering?
A: Commuter options are not available for this retreat at this time. However, if you live in the area or do not need lodging and would like to assist with the Gathering as part of our volunteer staff, we have a very limited number of volunteer-rate spots available. See the registration page regarding this option - this rate is offered in exchange for assistance with light duties throughout the event and does not include lodging at Mago Retreat Center.
Q: When will we be able to sign up for our breakout sessions / see a detailed schedule?
A: We will send an email with a link to sign up for your breakout sessions closer to the event. Because we are working hard to make sure the event flows as smoothly as possible, we will be working on the details of the full schedule until that time. In order to make sure that you receive the email with this information, please be sure to add email@example.com to your contacts or list of safe recipients so these don't go to your spam folder!
Q: Can I share a room with my partner/friend?
A: Yes! You can definitely request a roommate. When you register, please indicate the name of your roommate in the comments section of the checkout screen. Please note that your roommate will also need to register. If your requested roommate does not register for the event before it is sold out, you will be randomly paired with another attendee of the same gender.
Q: I snore/talk in my sleep/need a quiet roommate. Can I make a special roommate request based on these factors?
A: Unfortunately, we’re unable to pair roommates based on these kinds of preferences. If you need absolute silence in order to sleep, we recommend registering for a private room, or bringing along helpful items like ear plugs etc. in order to ensure that you have a comfortable experience at Gathering of the Shamans.
We do ask all attendees who are sharing a room with an assigned roommate to be open to the adventure of meeting someone new! Deep friendships have been formed at Gathering of the Shamans this way.
Q: What should I pack to wear at this event?
A: We will send you detailed instructions via email well in advance of the event so you will know how to prepare.
Q: If I fly into Phoenix or Flagstaff, how should I get to the retreat center?
A: We will send you detailed instructions via email well in advance of the event with information about shuttles from the Phoenix airport, how to reserve your seat, and other transportation options–including driving instructions if you are coming by car.
Q: Can three of us share a room?
A: There are a very limited number of rooms that can accommodate 3 guests (one bed is a sofa sleeper bed). If you are interested in one of these rooms, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check availability.
