(See below for more information about this retreat property)

The process begins now. You either already have a project or will select one during your coaching sessions.
This experience is designed to give you the inner fuel to help you press
directly through resistance and procrastination… and write like never before.

Together with the other participants, you will learn to use tools of creativity that will help you unleash your story. The activities at Sedona Mago are designed to lead you into the deep places of your own soul—then learn to express them with clarity and power in your writing.

Sedona Mago Retreat is set in the heart of the magnificent red rocks desert. The land is home to several powerful energy vortexes and the grounds are carefully managed to offer you the deepest experience of the natural magic for which Sedona is justifiably famous. In this peaceful setting, you will enjoy comfortable guest rooms, delicious vegetarian meals, swimming pools, hiking trails, and much more.

This is the perfect setting to unplug from the static and distractions of your life
and tune into the voice of your creative spirit!

Fire Walk!

NOTE: You are not required to walk on fire! You may participate as an observer only. From early childhood, we are taught that “fire burns!” This truth is reinforced over and over again throughout our lives. When you participate in the ancient practice of walking across hot coals, something fundamental changes in your mind. If it is no longer true that fire always burns, what other limitations might only be held in place with belief?

This is a powerful, liberating experience that will change your life…
whether you walk on fire, or simply participate as an observer!

By definition, creativity involves going outside our normal boundaries and doing something new. This is exactly the aim of the firewalk event—to get you thinking in new and powerful ways, shatter old paradigms, and make room for something unexpected to emerge.

 Lauren Sapala

– Author of The INFJ Writer –

– Founder of WriteCity writing groups in Seattle & San Francisco –

Lauren Sapala is a writer, writing coach, and the author of The INFJ Writer. She began working with blocked writers in 2009 when she founded the WriteCity writing group in Seattle, and then expanded the program to San Francisco in 2010. She became a full-time writing coach in 2013, working as an advocate for writers in one-on-one sessions designed to help bring the writer’s creative dreams into existence with unconditional love and support.

Lauren began to see that intuitive writers come to the creative process in a radically different way from the norm. Intuitive writers are stifled by plotting and planning every little detail before they begin writing their stories. Their works are heavily character-focused, with a distinctive emphasis on psychology, myth and archetype, and the lessons for humanity found hiding behind almost every storyline. Intuitive writers have difficulty writing quickly and are more sensitive to criticism, or even suggested changes, to their works in the revision process. Combining her own personal experience as an intuitive introvert with the experiences of her clients, Lauren decided to write a book detailing the unique temperament and creative process of sensitive intuitive writers. And so The INFJ Writer was born.

More of Lauren’s articles on creativity, personality theory, and sensitive intuitive writers can be found at her blog: www.laurensapala.com. In between coaching writers, and wrangling her two-year-old son, she’s currently working on her next book, Between the Shadow and Lo, an autobiographical novel detailing her alcoholic years in Seattle. Between the Shadow and Lo will be available in spring 2017.

Sedona Mago Retreat

The program begins Friday night at 7 pm, but we encourage you to arrive as early as 3 pm to familiarize yourself with all that this unique setting has to offer. Retreat staff will offer group tours of the property so you can learn about the energy vortexes, labyrinths, and other natural wonders.

The retreat will end Sunday afternoon between noon and 2 pm.

You are invited to surrender any preconceived ideas, assumptions, or expectations you may have about this weekend, so that you may experience a powerful liberation of your creative nature.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to retreat from your usual patterns of living and learn how to harness your inner power in entirely new ways. You will return to your life with fresh vision and know how to create your own reality as the work of art it was meant to be.

This gathering will be held at the Sedona Mago Retreat Center, which is operated by Tao Fellowship, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is “Love Humanity, Love the Earth.”

Surrounded by red monoliths, Native American ruins and majestic mountains, the Retreat Center offers 163 acres of beautifully landscaped land honoring Mother Earth’s treasures. Designed to work with the natural healing energy of Sedona, you can relax and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit.
